Take a look below to get to know our team a little better before you arrive.
Dr Jean Francois Cohen
Principal Dentist and Director
Dr Jean Francois Cohen is passionate about oral rehabilitation, using his knowledge of Prosthodontics and Implantology. Graduating with a DDS from the University of Marseilles, France, in 1992, Jean has been practising dentistry for over two decades. He is a partner of Casuarina Square Dental Care and is an integral part of our team.
Jean’s passion for his work recently lead him to travel to the US in 2015, to complete his Master Clinician in Implantology at Loma Linda University, allowing him to further his knowledge and practise some of the most modern dentistry in Darwin.
Jean looks forward to building relationships with his patients and the opportunities to improve not only their oral health, but also their overall health and well being.
Outside of dentistry, Jean’s interests are fitness, cooking, gardening and spending time with his family, friends and dogs.
Dr Karen Marshall
Principal Dentist and Director
Karen has been with Casuarina Square Dental Care since the practice began. She is passionate about making a difference to the dental health and general well being of her patients and works diligently to provide quality dental care to patients throughout the NT.
Encouraging patients to maintain healthy habits, which in turn leads to better dental health, is a particular highlight of her job. She also enjoys alleviating the dental fears of her patients so every patient can achieve a confident smile in a comfortable manner.
Outside the practice, Karen enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening and researching genealogy.
Dr Jeremy Lung
Born and raised in Darwin, Dr Jeremy Lung was once a patient of Casuarina Square Dental Care. It was these experiences that encouraged him to pursue dentistry as a career after finishing high school. Graduating from James Cook University, Jeremy returned to Darwin with the aim of providing oral health care for rural and remote populations in Australia. Throughout his training, he has worked with disadvantaged populations, including those in remote communities of Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Jeremy enjoys building relationships with anxious patients to allay their fears. Jeremy is committed to continuing professional development and learning so he can provide up-to-date and optimal treatments for his patients.
When he is not working or studying, Jeremy enjoys food, photography, the combination of the two, and badminton. Jeremy also enjoys learning languages and speaks Chinese, Japanese, and Korean conversationally.
Dr George Vlazny
George graduated from Sydney University in 1976 and had his own private practice in NSW for over 30 years until deciding to move to Darwin to be with his partner, Patricia, and pursue his love of fishing.
Dr Vlazny has been with us for almost four years now and brings a wealth of dental knowledge and experience to our friendly team. With such a professional and caring practice, work is a pleasure, and he hopes to share his enjoyment and experience with the people under his care.
Outside of the surgery, Dr Vlazny can be found fishing and enjoying photography.
We are delighted to introduce our new Hygienist, Julie McNutt, who recently joined the team at Casuarina Square Dental Care.
