Our clinic is equipped with modern dental technology, which supports the delivery of a wide range of treatments. Below are some of the systems you may encounter during your care.
Digital Dentistry
Digital dentistry, including x-rays and electronic records, allows us to store and access patient information efficiently. Digital systems can also be used to share relevant information with other providers when appropriate.
Digital x-rays emit less radiation compared with traditional x-ray systems and do not require chemical developing. At Casuarina Square Dental Care, we use both intra-oral x-rays, which capture smaller areas in detail, and panoramic images, which provide a wider view of the mouth.
Digital x-rays are available for immediate viewing, which allows the dentist to discuss findings with you during your appointment.

Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera is a small device that can capture colour images inside the mouth. These images can be displayed on a screen during appointments, allowing patients to view areas being examined. Intraoral images can also be stored for comparative purposes to help monitor changes in existing restorations or dental conditions over time.

Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide is a gas that may be used during some dental procedures to help reduce patient anxiety. It is administered through a mask worn during treatment. The effects begin quickly once the gas is inhaled and usually wear off shortly after the mask is removed.
Nitrous oxide may not be suitable for all patients. Your dentist will discuss whether this option is appropriate for you, including potential benefits, risks, and limitations.
Cone Beam CT (CBCT) Scan
A cone beam CT scan is an imaging system that provides three-dimensional views of the teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures. This type of scan can be useful in planning certain procedures, such as dental implants, root canal treatment, and the assessment of impacted teeth.
The process usually takes several minutes, including set-up and image capture. During the scan, the machine rotates around the patient’s head without touching them. After the images are processed, your dentist can review the results with you and discuss potential treatment options if needed.

CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns
CEREC technology allows our Casuarina Square Dental Care team to design and produce crowns on site, often within a single appointment. This system uses computer-aided design software to create a ceramic restoration that is placed directly over the prepared tooth.
Because CEREC crowns are made without metal, they do not have the metal edge that some traditional crowns show near the gumline.

iTero Intraoral Scanner
The iTero scanner is used to take digital impressions of the teeth and gums. This can be helpful for treatments such as Invisalign clear aligners, dental implants, whitening trays, and custom mouthguards.
Digital impressions are an alternative to traditional moulds and allow the dentist to record images of the mouth in real time.

2D Imaging: OPG/Lat Ceph
Our practice also uses 2D imaging, including orthopantomograms (OPG) and lateral cephalograms (Lat Ceph). These images are commonly used in orthodontic planning, as they assist in evaluating the relationship between the teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures.

Computer Aided Milling Machine(Dentsply In-Lab)
A computer-aided milling machine allows us to create crowns and bridges in-house from ceramic blocks. These restorations may be used for teeth that have been root canal treated, fractured, or to replace missing teeth.

Air Flow® Technology
At Casuarina Square Dental Care, we use Air Flow® technology as part of some dental hygiene treatments. This system, also called guided biofilm therapy, combines a stream of warm water, air, and a fine powder to help remove plaque, biofilm, and staining from the teeth.
What Is Air Flow® Technology?
Air Flow® technology is a preventive care tool that can be used in place of, or in addition to, traditional hand scaling. A coloured dye is sometimes applied first to highlight areas of plaque and biofilm buildup, and the spray system is then used to target those areas.
Patients may feel a light sensation from the spray. The experience can vary depending on individual needs and oral health conditions.
How Is It Used?
- Visual exam of the teeth and gums
- Application of dye to show areas of buildup
- Use of the Air Flow® spray to remove deposits
- Final assessment by the dental practitioner
