It’s composed of three main steps, including the following:
- Tell — Once your child is comfortable in their treatment room, I explain what is going to happen. My team and I are always careful to use age-appropriate language and avoid any words that might scare your little one.
- Show — My team and I show your child the tools we’ll be using so they know what to expect. We let them touch the mirror, allow them to hear the sound of the suction and show them what the electric toothbrush looks and sounds like.
- Do — Now that they’re comfortable with what’s going to happen, we perform the actual procedure, making sure to keep your child calm and anxiety-free.
